KOO is best known for theWit Hotel, the firm’s first constructed project. At State Street’s entrance to the Theater district and adjacent to the Chicago Theater, the hotel’s zig-zagging chartreuse glass performs like a super-sized marquee, creating a signature Identity for the building that also echoes the geometries of the adjacent ‘L’ tracks. The 250,000 SF building houses a four-star 304 room boutique Hilton hotel, two restaurants, including ROOF (a popular rooftop lounge), 7,000 square feet of conference space, and a signature spa. This is an example of a completed “signature design” through Construction Contract Administration. KOO completed the renovation of the rooftop bar and 2 conference room floors in 2020 and is currently renovating all guestrooms, corridors, and lobby.
