KOO was part of the development team that responded to and won the INVEST/SOUTHWEST RFP for development proposals at 79th & Exchange in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood. The proposal includes affordable and market rate Tax Credit apartments to bring residential density to the area, for-sale condominiums to address the community’s request for variety in housing types and economic levels, 34,000 sf of community focused retail of which 11,000 will be small retail and restaurant space and 23,600 is a Federally Qualified Health Center offering both high quality health services and employment in this federally designated medically underserved area. Housing at a variety of price points and well paying employment opportunities will attract households from outside the neighborhood as well as offer more options to those already in the neighborhood.
